NorthWest Arkansas Community College’s Dental Assistant program provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become a valued member of a dental healthcare team. The program is designed to equip students with expertise in both patient care and office management, ensuring they are well-rounded and prepared for the demands of the profession. Through a combination of classroom learning, hands-on laboratory work, and real-world clinical experiences, students will develop competence in assisting dentists, performing essential patient care tasks, and managing administrative duties. A key feature of the program is the required internship, which allows students to apply their learning in a professional setting. Upon successful completion, graduates will receive a Dental Assisting Technical Certificate and a Certificate of Proficiency in Dental Assisting, opening doors to a fulfilling career in the dental field and possibly the opportunity to apply completed program hours toward an Associate Degree.
