Monroe Community College’s Dental Assisting Certificate program provides a comprehensive foundation for aspiring dental assistants. The program is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a dental practice. Through a blend of classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory exercises, and real-world clinical experience, students will learn chairside assisting techniques, related lab and office procedures, and expanded functions permitted by New York State. A formal clinical internship is included to provide real-world experience. The traditional on-campus program is a full-time, one-year commitment. For working dental assistants already employed in New York, the Rapid Track (DART) program offers a convenient online alternative to meet state licensure requirements, allowing completion in four semesters or less. This program allows students to perform supportive services in a dental office while learning.
