The Dental Assistant Diploma program at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) is designed to equip students with the comprehensive skills and knowledge necessary to excel as vital members of a dental health team. The program provides instruction and experience in both general and specialty dentistry, covering chairside procedures, radiology, laboratory techniques, and business office practices. A core element is the robust clinical experience, which includes rotations through a variety of dental facilities, providing invaluable real-world training. DMACC’s program ensures graduates are well-prepared to assist dentists in all phases of dentistry, contributing to patient care and practice success. Note: Criminal background checks will be completed on each student. Criminal convictions or documented history of abuse may delay or prevent students from participating in clinical education experiences. Students unable to participate in clinical education will be unable to complete the Dental Assistant program.
