Marshalltown Community College’s Dental Assistant program provides students with a comprehensive education to excel as valuable members of the dental care team. The program is accredited by CODA, ensuring a high standard of education that meets industry demands. Students will learn administrative procedures, gain hands-on experience in laboratory techniques and assisting in various dental specialties, including endodontics and oral surgery. A strong emphasis is placed on patient care, communication skills, and ethical considerations, including HIPAA compliance. The curriculum also covers dental radiography, including x-ray equipment safety and digital/film processing. Graduates will be well-prepared for diverse responsibilities, including assisting with procedures, educating patients, and managing dental records. A background check, dental and physical exam is required.
