The Dental Assistant Certificate program at North Central State College, offered in partnership with Madison Adult Career Center, provides a focused and efficient pathway to a career in dental assisting. This accelerated program allows students to gain essential skills and knowledge in a shorter timeframe than a traditional associate degree program. Through a series of coordinated courses, students learn chairside assistance, dental specialties, laboratory procedures, and office management. Graduates are well-prepared to assist dentists in a variety of procedures, expose and process x-rays, sterilize instruments, and educate patients. Successful completion of the program makes students eligible to pursue certification through CODA and take the Ohio Dental Radiographer License and Ohio Dental Assistant certification exams. The certificate also serves as a stepping stone towards a Health Services Technology Associate Degree, offering further educational opportunities.
